We all know the sayings of Stephen king where he told us “Books are a uniquely portable magic.” Now after a several years, the industrial designer Max Gunawan has put his saying into reality. He has designed portable light in the shape of a book. These lamps are called “Lumio“. You won’t be able to guess what is in it till you open this book. When it is opened, you will find luminous glow. Yes, it is indeed the most modern form of light.
About his works, max states that origami had inspired him greatly. Lumio is somewhat related to the concept as it transforms into a new form. It adapts quite nicely according to the needs of the user, it can be a lamp, a reading light, an object for decoration etc. The light is powered by lithium batteries and rechargeable ones. They serve you 8 hours once they are charged. At first it was a pilot project but surprisingly the sales rose up to 240%. Lumio is a project going on at Kickstarter. If you want to back it up visit their Kickstarter page.
