If you are looking for a cheap bike then this might be the solution for you. An Israeli Engineer has invented a great way to turn cardboard into useful bike and that would only cost the users 9 Dollars in total. The bike can support a total weight fo 485 pounds.

The name of the engineer is Izhar Gafni and he has won awards for his inventions. His specialization lies in automated mass production. He usually designs carbon rings in industrial machines for peeling fruits but three years ago it all changed. He is a cycling fan and she decided to carve out a bi-cylcle from the cardboard.

He says that she heard a guy making canoe from cardboard. So he was motivated to build a bi-cylce out of it. Gafni consulted numerous engineers but all spoke negatively. His wife however knew it would work. So, she encouraged him.

At first, Gafni had nothing to work with. But he knew that folding the cardboard would tripple it’s strength. So he started doing it. He had not done any research. Thus, it was a trial and error journey for him. The challenging part was to make it appear as a normal bi-cycle. He intended the product to be heat and waterproof. So Izhar made a secret concoction from organic materials. The end results were fascinating. The costing ended up at just 9 Dollars. The bike is light weight too.
